Scoglio del Cerbaro is a bathing water area located in Rocca Imperiale, Calabria, Italy. The beach features a pebbly shoreline with an articulated rocky coast. The seabed has a mean slope of 1% from the waterline to the 5-metre isobath, with single underwater bars or cordons. The sediment granulometry is very fine sand with particles smaller than 0.062 mm.

Coastal water body. Articulated rocky coast. Pebbly beach. Mean seabed slope of 1% from the waterline to the 5-metre isobath. Single underwater bars or cordons present. Very fine sandy sediment with mean grain size smaller than 0.062 mm. Bathing area extends 1.289 square kilometres.

Location

Rocca Imperiale, Province of Cosenza, Calabria. The area extends seaward from agricultural territories between Fosso Toscani I and Fosso SS 106 at kilometre 408.5.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The Torrente Pellegrino mouth is identified as a source of pollution impact, associated with short-duration pollution events from agricultural runoff in the surrounding areas.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events from agricultural runoff in areas near Fosso Toscani I and Fosso SS 106. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms reported in the preceding four years.
