Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). The site is monitored based on historical data analysis of contamination parameters over at least four years. No cyanobacterial or toxic algal blooms detected. No reports of potentially toxic algal species proliferation in the past four years.

Risks

The Rodi Garganico wastewater treatment plant with submarine outfall discharges treated urban waters into the sea near the bathing area. This represents a potential point pollution source, though no short-duration pollution events have been recorded in the past four years.
