Macarro beach, also known as Cala Grande, is located in the Policastro Gulf in the Lucania sector of Basilicata. The beach is surrounded by Mediterranean scrubland and faces the Secca della Giumenta. The area includes several small coves: Riciulillu (accessible via a rock stairway), Abissu (an inlet among rocks), and 'mpedie and 'u Citru (which hosts large algae on the shoreline).
