Medão beach, known as Supertubos, is a long sandy beach surrounded by dunes popular with surfers and bodyboarders. The beach offers considerable sandy area and natural surroundings allowing observation of the sea and nature. It is a mandatory stop for practitioners of surf and bodyboard.

No history of short-term pollution events. No days in bathing season 2020 when bathing was advised against or prohibited due to short-term pollution.

Risks

Potential proliferation of cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton classified as unlikely. In case of pollution events affecting water quality, bathing will be advised against or prohibited, and warning signs will be posted if beach users are considered at risk.
