Three bathing areas are located on the eastern shore of Lake Parentis-Biscarrosse in the commune of Parentis-en-Born in the Landes department of Aquitaine. The bathing season runs from early June to mid-September. The waters are shallow, sandy-bottomed freshwater lake with submerged vegetation of Lagarosiphon major. Water circulation flows predominantly from west to east.

Water

Freshwater lake (Lac de Parentis-Biscarrosse). Second largest lake in Landes by surface area at 3345 hectares. Beach dimensions vary: Port beach is 100 metres long and 40 metres wide; Moutéou-Pipiou beach is 252 metres long and 54 metres wide; Calède beach is 40 metres long and 10 metres wide. Average depths range from 70–80 centimetres with maximum depths of 100–120 centimetres.

Location

Parentis-en-Born, Landes department, Aquitaine region. Located 80 kilometres from Mont de Marsan and Dax. Accessible by road, pedestrian paths, or boat. Parking available at each beach location.

Facilities

Moutéou-Pipiou: lifeguards, sanitary facilities, first aid post, waste collection, signage, accessible to persons with reduced mobility. Port: waste collection, no other amenities. Caleditura: waste collection, no other amenities.

Season

Early June to mid-September.
