Ottermeer is an artificial moorland lake created in 1974, located near a historic natural lake of the same name that has been recently rewetted. The lake is surrounded by a walking path where visitors enjoy the peaceful moorland landscape year-round. Typical moorland flora grows along the shores. A bathing beach with a large slide and a reed-thatched amenity building on the north shore provides recreational swimming opportunities.
