Naturfreibad Eystrup is a natural open-air swimming facility built in 1960 on a former quarry lake (Steinkuhle) covering approximately 1.4 hectares. Located in the Wesermarsch region west of Eystrup municipality on the right bank of the Weser, it has been operated by the Naturfreibad Eystrup swimming association since 2012. The bathing water is classified as excellent quality according to EU standards.

Inland lake (Binnensee). Former quarry lake approximately 1.4 hectares in area.

Location

West of Eystrup municipality, Wesermarsch region, on the right bank of the Weser River. Coordinates: 52.7822° North, 9.1927° East.

Water Quality

EU classification: Excellent quality (percentile assessment according to Directive 2006/7/EC). No hygiene impairment of bathing water quality detected. Pollution potential rated as low. No mass occurrences of macroalgae or phytoplankton observed in recent years. Mass developments of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) have been detected in recent years, potentially occurring in very warm summer months towards the end of the bathing season. Potential for mass proliferation currently rated as low.
