Ostbad is located on Juist, a 17 km long island with a white fine sandy beach in the North Sea. The island is part of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park and was designated a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in 2009. The width of the island varies with tidal conditions, ranging from 500 m at its narrowest point.
