Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). No cyanobacterial blooms occur due to oligotrophic conditions in the Ligurian Sea. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the past four years. No specific monitoring measures are currently activated.

Risks

The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominantly oligotrophic conditions. No proliferation of potentially toxic algal strains has occurred.
