Punta Chiappa is a bathing water area in Camogli, Liguria, characterized by high cliffs rising steeply from the sea with rich vegetation of angiosperms and conifers behind them. The zone is part of the Portofino Marine Protected Area. The area is defined by rocks and cliffs, particularly on the eastern side where a high cliff face dominates the coastline.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No coastal treatment plants, discharge pipes, or Imhoff tanks are present. No specific monitoring measures are currently active. River mouth identified as a pollution source.

Risks

River mouth (Fosso del Brughi) identified as potential pollution impact source. The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded.
