San Fruttuoso is a pebble and rocky beach enclosed between cliffs in the Portofino coastal area. The beach has coarse granulometry and is located near the Sanctuary of San Fruttuoso. The bathing water was classified as excellent between 2008 and 2011.

Coastal waters of the Portofino body of water, Ligurian Sea. Rocky and pebble beach with coarse grain size. The area extends 2.292 square units.

Location

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). Identified pollution sources include a coastal treatment plant (Depuratore S. Fruttuoso) with active outfall pipe, the port, and river mouths. No particular measures or specific monitoring are currently activated.

Risks

Coastal treatment plant discharge and active outfall pipe present. No cyanobacterial blooms occur due to oligotrophic conditions in the Ligurian Sea. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the past four years.
