Paço de Mato is a fluvial beach located on the Caima river in the village of Paço de Mato, parish of Rôge, municipality of Vale de Cambra. The bathing water area benefits from a set of complementary equipment and facilities. During the 2024 bathing season, Salmonella was detected in water samples, resulting in bathing bans for 24 days between July 1 and July 25, 2024.

June 15 to September 15, 2025. Sampling frequency: once per week.

Water Quality

Water quality classification in 2024 follows Decreto-Lei 135/09 amended by Decreto-Lei 113/2012. Salmonella was detected during the 2024 bathing season, resulting in bathing prohibition for 24 days (July 1–25, 2024). Potential microbiological pollution sources include diffuse sources upstream from agriculture or forestry activities, solid waste from beach activities, flora and fauna, and high number of users.
