Carriça is a bathing water located in the Teixeira River, a tributary of the Vouga River, situated about 3 km from São João da Serra in the district of Viseu. The bathing area is located on the water surface of the Ribeiradio Reservoir.

Approximately 3 km from São João da Serra, district of Viseu, in the municipality of Oliveira de Frades. Monitoring point coordinates: Latitude 40.14938, Longitude −8.71236.

Season

28 June to 31 August 2025. Sampling frequency: once every two weeks.

Water Quality

Water quality classification determined in 2024 under Decreto-Lei 135/09 (as amended by Decreto-Lei 113/2012). No occurrence of short-term pollution episodes. Zero days of bathing advisories or prohibitions due to short-term pollution in 2024. Potential diffuse microbiological pollution sources from agriculture or forestry activities and solid waste upstream.

Risks

Cyanobacteria have probable potential for proliferation. Macroalgae have probable potential for proliferation.
