Pastovio ežero paplūdimys is a public bathing beach located in Molėtai city in Lithuania. The beach features a natural shoreline with fine golden sand and uniform slope towards the lake. The beach is 100 meters long with an average water depth of 1.5 meters and maximum depth of 3.0 meters. Water quality has consistently met excellent quality standards from 2018 to 2024 according to EU Directive 2006/7/EB requirements.

Water

Lake within the Nemuno river basin and Šventoji river sub-basin. Water body name: Siesartis. Beach length: 100 meters. Average water depth: 1.5 meters. Maximum water depth: 3.0 meters. Beach substrate: fine-grained yellow sand. The water body has excellent ecological status. Annual precipitation in the basin: 715 mm with highest rainfall in October and lowest in June.

Location

Located in Molėtai municipality, Utenos district, Lithuania. The beach is situated in Molėtai city around Siesartis water body within the Šventoji river sub-basin. Coordinates: X=55.2325, Y=25.4288. Maximum visitor capacity during peak season is approximately 100-150 people.

Facilities

Two mobile portable toilets (separate for men and women). Basketball court, children's playground, beach volleyball court, and training equipment complex. Six waste bins and one municipal waste collection container. No information provided on lifeguards, showers, or disabled access facilities.

Water Quality

Water quality has been rated as excellent (puiki kokybė) for all monitoring years from 2018 to 2024. Monitoring and reporting conducted according to EU Directive 2006/7/EB since 2008. No phosphorus or nitrogen testing was performed; visual monitoring for blue-green algae was conducted. Water quality updated in 2024 and will be updated only if quality changes from excellent to good, satisfactory, or poor.

Risks

Short-term pollution possible during heavy rainfall, which typically resolves within 1-2 days. Possible momentary water contamination due to careless human behavior from nearby residential properties. One short-term pollution incident was recorded on 2021-09-01 and another on 2019-07-17; subsequent microbiological testing confirmed compliance with Lithuanian hygiene standards HN 92:2018.
