Water Quality

Water quality monitoring conducted between 2008 and 2010 with seasonal summer surveillance data. Multiple pollution sources identified including urban runoff, wastewater discharge, stormwater outlets, and inputs from adjacent water bodies. The Canal de Sète and Canal des Quilles represent identified sources of microbiological pollution.

Risks

Cyanobacteria proliferation, phytoplankton blooms, macroalgae, jellyfish, macro-debris pollution, hydrocarbon pollution, and short-term pollution events. Stormwater discharge outlets and combined sewer overflows pose contamination risks. Beach maintenance dredging activities identified.
