Playa La Alzada is a coastal bathing water zone located in Corralejo, Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands. The beach stretches 840 meters in length with an average width of 30 meters and features fine golden sand. It is exposed to moderate wave action with tidal range of 1-3 meters and depths from 0 to 9 meters. The water body is naturally typed as a coastal surface water mass.

Water quality classification based on four-year evaluation of Escherichia coli and intestinal Enterococcus indicators under RD 1341/2007. The surface water mass ES70FVTI2 (Punta Jandía – Punta del Lago) is in good ecological status with good or better overall state. No episodes of previous contamination recorded. No point pollution sources detected. No diffuse pollution sources identified. No short-duration contamination episodes anticipated.

Risks

Episodes of cyanobacterium Trichodesmium proliferation recorded in 2004, 2010, and more intensely in 2017. No risk from jellyfish or sea urchins. No risk from macroalgae. No contamination episodes anticipated.
