Playa Las Antillas is a bathing beach located in La Manga del Mar Menor, San Javier. The beach stretches 250 metres in length with an average width of 15 metres and features golden sand. It is a natural, sandy beach serving recreational daily use with an estimated maximum capacity of 1,625 swimmers. Water quality was rated as excellent during 2000–2011.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent during 2000–2009 and 2010–2011. No significant pollution pressure identified. No authorised discharges in the immediate area. Toxic phytoplankton sampling conducted in 2008 and 2009 showed virtually no potentially toxic cells throughout the bathing season.

Risks

Toxic phytoplankton proliferation: risk is null or very low. Short-duration episodes are unlikely. Jellyfish blooms occur seasonally, with peak abundance from early spring to late summer; production levels are highly variable.
