Playa Pedrucho Norte is a natural sandy beach located in San Javier within La Manga del Mar Menor in the Mediterranean coastal zone. The beach extends 600 metres in length with an average width of 5 metres and features golden sand. It is classified as a bathing zone with high occupancy and serves approximately 1,300 swimmers daily during the recreational season.

Facilities

Foot-washing facilities available. Showers, toilets, and changing rooms are not available.

Water Quality

Water quality was classified as excellent during 2000–2009 and continued to be rated excellent in 2010 and 2011. No significant contamination pressure identified. The coastal water body 'Mojón-Cabo de Palos' has good ecological status. Toxic phytoplankton sampling conducted in 2008 and 2009 showed virtually no potentially toxic cells throughout the bathing season. Risk of toxic phytoplankton proliferation is null or very low.

Risks

Jellyfish appear seasonally with maximum abundance between early spring and late summer. Jellyfish production is highly variable. Short-duration episodes of toxic phytoplankton proliferation are unlikely.
