Playa La Arena is a 144.67-metre long, 57.21-metre wide coastal bathing beach located in Mesa del Mar, Tacoronte, Tenerife. The beach features dark fine sand substrate and is exposed to moderate wave conditions with tidal ranges of 1 to 3 metres. The surrounding water body is in good ecological status both biologically and physicochemically. The beach is suitable for swimming, snorkelling, and diving activities.

Coastal water body, surface natural type. Bathymetry ranges from 0 to -20 metres. Substrate is dark fine sand. Moderate wave conditions with wave regime exposure. Current regime present. Tidal range 1 to 3 metres.

Mesa del Mar, Tacoronte municipality, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Parking is available. Pedestrian access is good; vehicle access is regular.

Water Quality

Water quality classification based on four-year evaluation of faecal contamination indicators: Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci, in accordance with RD 1341/2007. Cyanobacteria proliferation episodes of Trichodesmium occurred in 2004, 2010, and more intensely in 2017. No risk from jellyfish or sea urchins. No risk from macroalgae.
