Piscina Natural de Jóver is a natural swimming pool located in Tejina, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife. The bathing area measures 40 meters in length and 24 meters in width with a cement substrate. It is situated in a coastal water body with exposure to waves but characterized by calm waters. Water Quality

Water quality classification based on Escherichia coli and intestinal Enterococcus monitoring over four years according to RD 1341/2007. The coastal water body ES70TFTI1_1 (Punta de Teno – Punta del Roquete) is in good ecological status. Identified pollution sources include two wastewater treatment facilities (Saneamiento Jóver I and II), a desalination plant facility (EDAS Los Geranios), and two submarine outfalls. No previous contamination episodes are recorded.

Risks

Potential short-duration contamination from stormwater runoff carrying contaminants from upstream areas, with sporadic occurrence expected in less than 72 hours. Untreated or treated urban wastewater discharge from pipeline breaks, system failures, emergency overflow, or unauthorized releases, unpredictable and lasting less than 72 hours. Brine discharge (desalination reject) discharge, unpredictable and lasting less than 72 hours. Cyanobacteria proliferation of Trichodesmium recorded in 2004, 2010, and more intensely in 2017. No risk from jellyfish, sea urchins, or macroalgae.
