Playa Bonita is a natural Mediterranean coastal beach in Granada, Andalucía, Spain. The beach is 210 meters long with an average width of 10 meters and features dark sand composition. It experiences calm bathing conditions with moderate wave exposure dominated by easterly winds. The beach has low occupancy levels and an urban character with easy pedestrian access.

Water

Mediterranean coastal waters in the Andalusian Mediterranean Basin. Deep waters with muddy sand substrate. Micromareal range of 0–2 meters. Current regime dominates toward the east, east-southeast, and east-northeast. Annual precipitation ranges from 400–600 mm with a torrentiality index of 75–100%.

Location

Located in Sorvilán, Granada province, Andalucía, on the Granada coastline. The beach has easy pedestrian access. The nearest sports port is Adra.

Facilities

Showers are available. Beach cleaning service is provided. No lifeguard equipment, Red Cross station, rescue equipment, signage, boardwalks, disabled access, toilets, trash cans, water sports rentals, nautical club, scuba diving zone, or sports port facilities are present on the beach.

Water quality classification for the 2019 bathing season: Excellent. Low-level microbiological contamination risk of short duration (24 hours). Diffuse sources include agricultural land use in the influence zone. Point sources include urban discharge from Melicena (GR310). Low risk of jellyfish proliferation, low risk of phytoplankton proliferation, and medium risk of macroalgae proliferation.

Low-level microbiological contamination risk from urban discharge and agricultural runoff from Rambla del Cautor and Barranco de Barriates. Medium risk of macroalgae proliferation.
