Playa de Deba, also known as Playa de Santiago, is a sandy beach located in the Deba transition water body east of the breakwater separating it from the Deba River estuary. The beach is 400 meters long with an average width of 120 meters and a mean surface area of 53,980 square meters. It is composed of fine sand and is designated as a high-occupancy, heavily-used urban beach with strong wave exposure. During the 2010 swimming season, approximately 287,873 swimmers visited the beach.
