Playa de la Escollera is a bathing beach located in Cullera, Valencia, in the Valencian Community, Spain. The beach has a longitudinal open configuration with perpendicular breakwaters and a rigid promenade. It features an artificial sandy composition and is bordered to the north by Playa del Racó and to the south by the Júcar River. The beach is 603 meters long with an average width of 116 meters.

Location

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored weekly during the bathing season under Royal Decree 1341/2007. The water body is classified as moderate status. Short-duration contamination factors (rainfall, urban sewerage, coastal discharges) have low frequency and mild impact. Rivers and canals, industrial facilities, port facilities, and diffuse pollution all have low frequency and mild impact.

Risks

The Júcar River discharges continuously at the southern boundary with low risk classification. An untreated collector overflow to the Júcar River operates seasonally at the northern surroundings with low risk classification.
