Playa del Marenyet is a maritime bathing zone located in the municipality of Cullera in Valencia province, Spain. The beach has an irregular closed configuration with coastal defence structures including a bulkhead and perpendicular breakwaters, and does not have a seafront promenade. It is situated between the Río Xuquer to the north and Playa del Dorado-Estany to the south. The beach is composed of sand and is classified as a low-accumulation coastal type with microtidal range and currents flowing from south to north.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified according to Real Decreto 1341/2007. Monitoring includes weekly inspections during bathing season with evaluations of water analysis, water appearance, and sand cleanliness rated as excellent, good, sufficient, or insufficient. Water body status: Moderate. Monitoring point PM 1 located at Calle Falutx (coordinates 738660, 4336319), established in 1987.

Risks

Río Xuquer discharge at northern limit (100 metres wide, continuous flow, low risk type). Potential short-duration contamination factors: rainfall (low frequency, slight effect), urban sewerage (low frequency, slight effect), coastal discharges (low frequency, slight effect).
