Playa de la Olla is a beach located in the municipality of Altea in the province of Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain. The beach has a longitudinal open configuration with a composition of boulders and sand of artificial origin. It is situated between the port of Marymontanya to the north and Cala Soio beach to the south, with no defensive structures present.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent. Monitoring point PM 1 (Centro playa) established since 1994. Water mass state classified as Good under Water Framework Directive 2000/60/CE. Monitoring conducted weekly during bathing season with evaluation of water analysis, water appearance, and sand cleanliness. Short-duration contamination risk factors (E. coli and intestinal enterococci) assessed as low frequency with slight impact.

Risks

Barranco de la Braña (natural watercourse) with mixed origin discharge located within beach center with continuous flow and medium risk level. Low-frequency, slight-impact risks from rainfall, urban sanitation, and coastal discharge. Low-frequency, slight-impact risks from rivers/canals, industrial installations, port facilities, and diffuse pollution. Cyanobacteria proliferation not detected in the Valencian coastal region. Phytoplankton proliferation possible but associated with low water renewal areas.
