Cala de la Llobella is a natural beach located in Benissa, Alicante, in the Valencia region of Spain. The beach has a cove configuration and is part of an ecological promenade that runs along the entire coast of the municipality. It is bordered to the north by Cala del Baladrar and to the south by Cala de Pinets. The beach has a rocky composition and cliff-type coastline with a mean width of 15.5 metres and a tidal shoreline of 230 metres.

Water Quality

Water quality classification system follows Royal Decree 1341/2007. Monitoring conducted weekly during bathing season with assessment categories: Excellent, Good, Sufficient, Insufficient. No direct discharges to the coastline affecting water quality. Underlying water mass classified as 'Very Good' status under Water Framework Directive 2000/60/CE. No environmental control point established as no direct sewage connections or geographic accidents pose contamination risk.

Risks

Potential short-duration contamination factors assessed as low frequency with minor impact: rainfall, urban sewage systems, coastal discharges. Rivers/canals, industrial installations, port facilities, and diffuse pollution all assessed as low frequency with minor impact. No cyanobacteria proliferation detected in Valencia coastal waters. Phytoplankton proliferations are natural phenomena possible in this area. Jellyfish proliferations possible as natural phenomenon associated with water temperature and coastal geomorphology.
