Les Palmeretes is a sandy beach located in Sueca municipality, Valencia province, in the Valencian Community, Spain. The beach has a longitudinal open configuration with a rigid promenade and measures 1,344.2 metres along the high-tide line with an average width of 28.5 metres. It is bounded to the north by La Llastra beach and to the south by La Motilla beach. The beach is situated on low-accumulation coastline within an urban zone.

Water

Marine bathing water in a coastal area. The water body is classified as a coastal typology. The beach has a high-tide line length of 1,344.2 metres and average width of 28.5 metres. The composition is sand of artificial origin. Current direction is south to north. The area is classified as micromareal (very small tidal range). The water body belongs to the Júcar River Basin District.

Sueca municipality, Valencia province, Valencian Community, Spain. Located on Calle San Roque. Parking is available.

Facilities

Lifeguards and rescue services are present. Facilities include accessible access points, accessible point service, parking, beach bar, foot showers, free public toilets, waste bins with selective collection, sports zone, and buoying/marking system. Bather density during the bathing season is medium.

Season

1 June to 15 September.

Water Quality

Water quality classification results for 2020–2023 are available. The coastal water body has been classified as being in good status. Monitoring is conducted weekly during the bathing season with inspections of visual parameters including water analysis, water appearance, and sand cleanliness, each classified as excellent, good, sufficient, or insufficient. No direct discharges to the coastline affect water quality. The two municipal wastewater treatment plants serving the area (EDAR Sueca-El Perelló and EDAR Sueca) discharge to golas and drainage channels rather than directly to the beach.

Risks

Potential short-duration contamination risks from rainfall, urban sanitation systems, and coastal discharges are all classified as low frequency and mild impact. Rivers and canals, industrial installations, port facilities, and diffuse pollution are also classified as low frequency and mild impact. Cyanobacteria proliferation is not typical in coastal waters and has not been detected in the Valencian Community coastal area. Phytoplankton proliferations can occur naturally but are more common in low-renewal zones and near river mouths. Jellyfish proliferations are natural phenomena associated with coastal geomorphology, climate conditions, and high water temperatures.
