Playa de Motilla is a maritime bathing zone located in the municipality of Sueca, Valencia, Spain. The beach has a longitudinal open configuration without coastal defense structures and features a rigid maritime promenade. It is situated between Playa de Les Palmeretes to the north and Playa de Mareny de Barraquetes to the south. The beach is composed of sand with a semi-natural origin.

Water

Maritime bathing zone in coastal waters. The beach extends 367.3 meters along the high-tide line with an average width of 46.4 meters. The coast is classified as low-lying accumulation coast. Water currents flow from south to north. The water body experiences microtidal range.

Location

Sueca municipality, Valencia province, Valencian Community, Spain. The beach is accessible by road with parking available. Disabled access and accessible service points are provided.

Facilities

Lifeguard and rescue services available. Public bathrooms provided free of charge. Showers and foot-washing facilities available. Buoying system in place. Accessible parking and accessible service point provided. Waste and selective recycling bins installed. No bars or chiringuitos.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for the bathing zone is excellent. Monitoring is conducted weekly during the bathing season with assessment of water analysis, water appearance, and sand cleanliness rated as excellent, good, sufficient, or insufficient. The water mass is classified as coastal category with good ecological status.

Risks

Gola del Rei is an artificial watercourse with mixed origin presenting high-risk type discharge occurring continuously at the northern limit of the beach. Short-duration contamination risk factors include rainfall (low frequency, mild impact), urban sanitation (low frequency, mild impact), and coastal discharges (low frequency, mild impact). Rivers and canals, industrial installations, port facilities, and diffuse pollution all present low-frequency, mild-impact risks.
