Playa del Conde is a maritime bathing beach located in Pilar de la Horadada, Alicante, in the Valencian Community, Spain. The beach has a longitudinal open configuration without defense structures and features a rigid promenade. It stretches 165 meters along the high tide line with an average width of 21.3 meters and is composed of sand of artificial origin. The beach is bordered to the north by Playa de Jesuitas and to the south by Playa del Puerto.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The water body status is Good according to Water Framework Directive implementation. Monitoring is conducted weekly during the bathing season with assessment of water analysis, water appearance, and sand cleanliness rated as Excellent, Good, Sufficient, or Insufficient. No direct coastal discharges affecting water quality. Urban wastewater treatment is managed by the Pilar de la Horadada wastewater treatment plant (EDAR) with a treatment capacity of 18,500 cubic meters per day and tertiary treatment plus ultraviolet disinfection, serving a population of 25,289 residents.

Potential short-term contamination factors from rainfall (low frequency, mild impact), urban sanitation (low frequency, mild impact), and coastal discharges (low frequency, mild impact). Rivers/canals (low frequency, mild impact), industrial facilities (low frequency, mild impact), port facilities (low frequency, mild impact), and diffuse pollution (low frequency, mild impact). No detection of cyanobacteria proliferation in the Valencian Community coastal waters. Phytoplankton and macroalgae monitoring networks are in place.
