Playa el Alamillo is a bathing beach located in Mazarrón along the Mediterranean coast. The beach is 700 meters long with an average width of 25 meters and features golden sand with boulders and gravel composition. It is a naturally occurring beach designated as suitable for bathing and has a medium occupancy level.

Foot wash stations (6 units). No showers, toilets, or changing rooms are available.

Water Quality

Water quality was classified as excellent from 2004–2007 and 2010–2011. In 2008 and 2009, quality was classified as good. The water body belongs to the Segura River Basin hydrological demarcation and the coastal water mass 'Punta de La Azohía-Puntas de Calnegre', which has good ecological status.

Risks

Toxic phytoplankton proliferation occurs as a natural phenomenon but rarely affects public health or ecosystems. Sampling in 2008 and 2009 showed virtually no potentially toxic cells. Risk is null or very low. Jellyfish appear seasonally with peak abundance between early spring and late summer, though their production is highly variable.
