Playa Entremares is a bathing beach located in La Manga del Mar Menor, Cartagena, on the Mediterranean coast. The beach has a natural origin with golden sand composition and is situated in an urban area with a promenade. It experiences high occupancy from foreign users on a daily basis and has excellent water quality. Water renewal occurs within seven days.

Water Quality

Water quality was classified as excellent for the period 2000–2009 and remained excellent in 2010 and 2011. No significant pollution pressure identified. Toxic phytoplankton sampling was conducted in 2008 and 2009 with negligible presence of potentially toxic cells.

Risks

Toxic phytoplankton proliferation is a natural phenomenon that rarely affects public health or ecosystems, with very low risk. Risk from short-duration episodes is unlikely. Jellyfish have seasonal periods of appearance, with maximum abundance from early spring to late summer.
