Playa La Llana is a natural sandy beach located in Las Salinas near San Pedro in the Mediterranean coastal zone. The beach is 1200 metres long with an average width of 10 metres and features golden sand. It experiences a micromareal tide range of less than 2 metres and water renewal occurs within seven days. The beach accommodates approximately 4800 bathers on peak days.

Las Salinas, San Pedro. The bathing water control point is identified as Playa La Llana PM1, located at UTM coordinates 697419.77 (X) and 4188170.06 (Y), latitude 37.817754°, longitude -0.758359°, zone 30N.

Foot showers (2 units). Toilets (1 unit). No showers or changing rooms.

Water Quality

Water quality was classified as excellent during 2000–2009 and remained excellent in 2010 and 2011. The bathing area is designated as suitable for swimming. The water body is part of the 'Mojón-Cabo de Palos' coastal mass, with good ecological status.

Risks

Toxic phytoplankton proliferation is a natural phenomenon that rarely affects public health. Monitoring conducted in 2008 and 2009 showed virtually no presence of potentially toxic cells throughout the bathing season, with risk assessed as null or very low. Jellyfish appear seasonally, with maximum abundance between early spring and late summer.
