Playa Las Delicias is an urban beach in Águilas located on the Mediterranean coast within the Segura River Basin. The beach extends 800 meters in length with an average width of 45 meters and features a natural composition of gravel and sand with dark sand bottom. It is a daily recreational bathing area with high occupation levels and a promenade. Water renewal occurs within 7 days, and the beach has been awarded Blue Flag status.

Mediterranean Sea coastal waters. Length 800 meters, average width 45 meters. Dark sand bottom with gravel and sand composition. Water renewal period less than 7 days. Micromareal tidal range (less than 2 meters). Maximum estimated bathers: 17,160.

Facilities

Foot-washing stations (4), toilets (6). No showers or changing rooms.

Water Quality

Water quality was rated as excellent during 2000–2009 and in 2010–2011. The beach is located in the coastal water body 'Puntas de Calnegre-Punta Parda', which has good ecological status. No significant pollution pressures identified. No authorized discharges in the adjacent area. Not monitored for potentially toxic phytoplankton cells.

Risks

Jellyfish appear seasonally with peak abundance from early spring to late summer. Short-duration episodes are unlikely. Jellyfish production is highly variable.
