Mar de Cristal is a bathing beach in Cartagena located in a coastal maritime zone within the Segura River Basin hydrographic demarcation, adjacent to the Mar Menor. The beach extends 1,100 metres in length with an average width of 38 metres and features golden sand composition. Water quality was rated as excellent during 2000–2009 and continued to be excellent in 2010 and 2011. The beach supports high occupancy with approximately 12,675 maximum bathers daily and is equipped with urban amenities including a promenade with complementary services.
