Porto Greco-Romano is a rocky bathing water area in Castellabate with a jagged rocky shoreline, a small sandy beach, and a port area to the north. The surrounding coast features steep vegetated slopes with terraced hillsides. The water has been classified as Excellent for the years 2020 through 2023.

Location

Castellabate, Province of Salerno, Campania region. Located on the coast with a port area to the north of the main bathing zone.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023). Two urban wastewater treatment plants serve the area: one at Maroccia (biological treatment with activated sludge, discharge to Vallone Valsella) and one at Ogliastro Marina (biological treatment with activated sludge, discharge to Vallone Arena). A breakwater mole at the San Marco port is located in the immediate vicinity of the monitoring point on the western side.
