Location

Castellabate, Province of Salerno, Campania region, Italy. The bathing area is situated on a sandy coastline with breakwater protection.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023). Classified according to D.Lgs. 30.05.08 n. 116.

Risks

Two wastewater treatment plants discharge into the area: a biological activated sludge plant at Maroccia location discharges into Vallone Valsella, and another at Ogliastro Marina discharges into Vallone Arena. A surface water course mouth is located approximately 1 km to the east at Pozzillo.
