Lake Gérardmer contains five bathing zones managed by the municipality of Gérardmer in the Vosges region of France. One site, Union Nautique, is an equipped bathing facility, while four sites—Quai du Locle, Ramberchamp La Tocade, Ramberchamp Kattendycke, and Le Lido/le bout du Lac—are natural bathing areas. Water Quality

Water quality is monitored through bacteriological analyses at each bathing site. Classification of bathing waters for Lake Gérardmer was recorded from 2006 to 2010 and from the earliest analyses onwards. Results show variation in compliance with bathing water standards.

Risks

Potential pollution sources have been identified in the catchment area. Bacteriological results show correlation with rainfall in the previous 48 hours, indicating vulnerability to contamination from runoff.
