Lake Gérardmer contains five bathing sites designated for public swimming. One is an equipped facility (Union Nautique) and four are natural bathing zones (Quai du Locle, Ramberchamp La Tocade, Ramberchamp Kattendycke, and Le Lido/le bout du Lac). The lake is a popular summer destination attracting both local residents and tourists for swimming and water sports. Water quality monitoring and pollution risk assessment were conducted for all five sites.

Potential pollution sources identified in the catchment area include municipal wastewater systems and stormwater discharge. Bacteriological contamination risk correlates with rainfall events. A 48-hour relationship was observed between heavy precipitation and elevated bacterial levels.
