Rahmer See is an 80-hectare natural lake located approximately 10 kilometres north of Berlin's city boundary in the Barnim Nature Park. It forms part of the ice-age channel of the Briese river and has a maximum depth of 4.1 metres and average depth of 2.4 metres, resulting in consistent water mixing. The lake's catchment area spans 27 square kilometres, comprising 37% forest, approximately one-third agricultural land, and 15% residential settlements. Water transparency ranges from 0.6 to 1.2 metres in summer due to high plankton turbidity.
