Water

Río Zújar (Zújar River) in the Guadiana River basin. The river bed is composed of asphalt. The catchment area covers 690.90 km² with a maximum elevation of 898 m and minimum of 258 m. The drainage basin is characterized by impermeable materials with low soil development, resulting in rapid hydrological response to precipitation and severe dry periods.

Location

Located northeast of Villanueva de la Serena town. Access: from Villanueva de la Serena, take the Entrerríos road toward the Entrerríos urbanization, turn right onto Travesía Sol and Calle Sol, then take a left path at the end. Parking available.

Facilities

Parking, bar/snack bar, picnic areas, portable toilets, informational signs, waste containers, boat landing area, recreational zone, and shaded grassy areas. No lifeguards, showers, swimming pools, or fountains. Garbage collection performed weekly. Domestic animal access status not specified.

Bathing water registered in 2020. Water quality monitoring conducted in 2020 and 2021 using fortnightly sampling. Recommendation for all samplings conducted to date: suitable for bathing.
