Rodel-La Croix is a small beach located on the seafront promenade in the centre of Concarneau. It is one of five beaches in the downtown corniche area and experiences medium visitor traffic. The beach is subject to potential green algae wash-ups depending on seasonal conditions, tides, and exposure. Water quality can be influenced by storm overflow discharges from nearby systems.

Location

Concarneau, centre-ville (downtown), seafront promenade area. Part of the five-beach corniche sector in the city centre.

Season

Official bathing season monitoring framework established under European directive 2006/7/CE, progressively implemented through 2015.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored for microbiological contamination. The beach is classified under both the 1975 and 2006 European bathing water directives. Bacteriological analysis includes coliforms, Escherichia coli, and intestinal enterococci measurements. Quality can be affected by combined sewer overflows from the Miné and Pénéroff systems.
