Coastal bathing water with a regular sloping beach profile. The water body is subject to oceanic and meteorological influences typical of the Atlantic coast.

Location

Le Croisic is situated in Loire-Atlantique department (44), Pays de la Loire region. The beach is part of the territory of the CAP Atlantique agglomeration community, which groups 15 communes between the Loire and Vilaine rivers. The municipality has a population of 4,156 inhabitants.

Facilities

Lifeguards on duty from 12:30 to 19:00 during the monitoring period. Average daily attendance during bathing season is 70-200 visitors.

Season

Official bathing period: 15 June to 15 September. Monitoring period: 1 July to 31 August.

Water Quality

Water quality classification under Directive 2006/7/CE: Excellent for all periods (1999-2002, 2003-2006, 2007-2010, 2011-2014). Under Directive 76/160/CEE, classification was 10A (good quality) for years 2011-2014. No episodes of pollution have been recorded. Monitoring includes bacteriological analysis (coliforms and enterococci).
