Sainte Anne Large is an open beach located in the commune of Saint Pol de Léon, composed of sand. The beach is subject to a bathing water profile assessment under European Directive 2006/7/CE. Pollution persists for shorter periods due to the open nature of the beach. The beach classified as excellent quality under the 2006/7/CE directive classification method in 2010.

Water

Open coastal beach composed of sand. The area is characterized by rocky outcrops and sandy coves with a coastal topography.

Location

Saint Pol de Léon commune. The immediate perimeter is characterized by low slopes with artificial green spaces including camping, parking, and leisure areas.

Water Quality

Water was classified as good to average quality from 2005 to 2010 under Directive 76/160/CEE. Under the 2006/7/CE classification method, the beach was classified as excellent quality in 2010. Microbiological data from ARS exceeded enterococci thresholds once in 2006.

Risks

Identified pollution sources include birds present on the bathing zone and surface runoff water. Wind patterns from the North-West and North-East directions tend to push pollution toward the coast, while South-West winds disperse pollution seaward. Flooding risks are low during the summer season.
