Classification: Excellent (2020–2023). A biological wastewater treatment plant with activated sludge is located in Arancia, Capitello fraction, with discharge via submarine pipeline at Cantiere location (coordinates: start LAT. 40.075847 LONG. 15.553906, end LAT. 40.074895 LONG. 15.553976).

Risks

Possible pollution sources identified: Policastro port to the west; pumping station at Cantiere (LAT. 40.076053 LONG. 15.553889) to the east; potential submarine pipeline ruptures from the Arancia treatment plant.
