Santalahden ranta is a public bathing beach located in Mussalo, Finland, suitable for people with mobility restrictions. The beach features soft sand and opens southward into a bay. Location

Santalahden ranta is located in Mussalo next to Santalahden holiday village in Kotka. The address is Santatie 2, 48310 Kotka. A parking area is available near the beach.

Facilities

Changing rooms, toilet facilities with washing areas, lifesaving rings and ropes, designated swimming area marked with buoys, accessible pathways with ramps suitable for strollers and wheelchairs, grilling and picnic area, playground, volleyball court, miniature golf course, nearby nature trail, golf course, and frisbee golf course. No lifeguard supervision. Smoking is prohibited on the beach.

Season

Official monitoring and facilities operate from mid-June to the end of August. The beach is open around the clock.

Water Quality

The most recent water sample was taken on 12 August 2025, with microbiological quality classified as good. No algal blooms were detected in the water. Water quality classification has varied: excellent in 2020, good in 2021 and 2022, and satisfactory in 2023. Algal blooms have been observed occasionally and the beach participates in national algal bloom monitoring.
