Scoglio Gagiato is a bathing water area located on a high rocky cliff on the western side of the Punta Mesco promontory in Levanto, Liguria. The area stretches from Sorgente del Semaforo to Punta Mesco and is part of the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area. It is classified as coastal water with mountainous features and low stability.

Coastal marine water. Area extends 0.906 km². Part of the Punta Mesco water body, which is a high rocky coast with mountainous relief and low stability characteristics.

Location

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent (2008-2011). No coastal wastewater treatment plants or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominant oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the last four years.

Risks

No identified risks. Cyanobacterial blooms do not occur due to oligotrophic conditions. No proliferation of potentially toxic algal species has been documented.
