Centro Golfo is a sandy beach located on the western side of Monterosso al Mare in Liguria, Italy. The beach is part of the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area. The bathing water has been classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2008–2011. The Ligurian Sea in this area is characterized by oligotrophic conditions that prevent cyanobacterial blooms.

Coastal waters of the Ligurian Sea. The bathing area extends 0.481 km². The water body is part of the Cinque Terre protected marine area and is fed by the Rio delle Rocche watershed.

Location

Monterosso al Mare, La Spezia Province, Liguria region, Italy. The beach is situated on the western coast facing the town of Monterosso al Mare.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). The Ligurian Sea at this location is oligotrophic, preventing cyanobacterial and toxic algal blooms. No cases of toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded in the past four years.

Risks

River mouth discharge from Rio delle Rocche is identified as a potential pollution source. No wastewater treatment plants or coastal sewage systems are present in the immediate area.
