Stora Badviken is a bathing area on Simsjön, a small lake of approximately 0.55 square kilometres located southwest of Billingen, about 5 km from Skövde city centre. The beach consists of about 70 metres of sand with extensive grassy areas and lush vegetation. Simsjön serves as Skövde's reserve water supply. The catchment area is predominantly forested (38%), with open land (11%), agricultural land (38%), and wetlands (11%). Potential pollution sources may include stormwater from nearby residential areas, but primary inflows come from peat bog areas to the north.
