Skogssjön is a lake with approximately 60 metres of sandy beach distributed across three locations, situated just above the ski lifts on Mössebergs plateau in Falköping, east of Bestorps nature reserve. The lake is surrounded by open grassy areas near the shores, followed by rarely cut grassland, trees and bushes, and finally forest environments. The lake lies at 308 metres elevation and is part of the Inloppet i Hulesjön sub-catchment, which feeds into Lidan's main channel, which in turn is part of the Göta Älv main drainage area.
