Sopot, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. Part of the Gdańsk Bay bathing area with several nearby beaches within 1-4 kilometres.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Good (2025), Excellent (2024), Excellent (2023). Regular monitoring shows E. coli levels typically between 0–550 jtk(NPL)/100 ml and Enterococci levels between 0–97 jtk(NPL)/100 ml. Maximum permissible thresholds: E. coli 1000 jtk(NPL)/100 ml, Enterococci 400 jtk(NPL)/100 ml. Most assessments rate water as suitable for bathing.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms (zakwit sinic) reported on multiple dates in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, resulting in water being unsuitable for bathing on affected dates. Oil staining from a port fire in Gdańsk noted on 16 July 2024.
